June and July Updates!
David has two new books out! The YA romance novel Just A Thing and the thriller Patient Zero.
As you can guess, Patient Zero deals with a pandemic, just not the one you think! Heavily inspired by the AIDS epidemic of the 1980s, it’s half conspiracy thriller-half suspense novel as a young Jake Kelley goes from one-night stand to being the victim of a horrible disease. Rumors abound about what it is, where it got started, and just who released it into the gay community. But Jake won’t stop asking questions, not when his friends are dying around him.
Just a Thing is a YA novel that approaches the COVID-19 epidemic with a sense of heart, warmth, and honesty that you rarely get to experience firsthand. Kieren has a secret: a secret that everyone seems to know but won’t speak about.
And when school gets canceled from this mysterious new disease that’s scaring the world, Kieren gets a lot of time to try to not obsess over his crush and a friendship long gone. And when it seems like everything is coming to an end, taking a chance might not feel worse than death.
We gotta admit though, folks…Just a Thing is one of our favorite novels in a long, long time. It’s a tear-jerker, so have some tissues nearby.
